Business Connections is a benefit of being a member of the Southport Oak Island Chamber of Commerce-Welcome Center. No additional dues required and the benefits of attending are huge. A Hypnotic Coffee with the Girls

The September Coffee with the Girls was hypnotic at the Comfort Suites in Southport!   Our speaker Kathryn Lawler, RNC, BSN, MSN, MA Human Development, Ph.D. Ms. Lawler combines the physical and psychological aspects associated with problems amenable to Hypnosis. No, we did not cluck like chickens, nor did she mesmerize us with the old watch on a chain (although she did have one as a prop).   She explained that hypnosis is a means of creating a state of expanded awareness, blocking out sources of distractions – like meditation but with positive suggestions.   The next Coffee with the Girls will be held on Tuesday, October 17th at 8am in the Comfort Suite ...

Swing Joins Southport Oak Island Area Chamber's Administrative Assistant

The Southport-Oak Island Chamber of Commerce is pleased to have Mitzi Swing join the team as Administrative Assistant.  Mitzi will be based in the Chamber of Commerce office located at 4433 Long Beach Road, Southport, NC.  Mitzi is a resident of Oak Island, having moved from the Winston-Salem, NC area in January of this year.  Mitzi is a North Carolina native and spent her childhood summers on Wrightsville Beach in nearby Wilmington.  Mitzi and her husband, Dusty, and their dog, Sally, can often be found hanging out on the beaches of Oak Island.
