| Guest speaker for this service will be, Kenny House, Vice President of Clinical Services, Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. The information that will be presented at this service will inform you about substance abuse issues in our community, how to recognize if someone is involved with substance abuse, recovery and treatment options that are available, and how we can work to prevent substance abuse before it begins.
Sgt. Charlie Blalock, Community Resource Officer, for the Oak Island Police Department will also be discussing "trends and patterns" and ways that you as a citizen can become the "eyes and ears" to help assist in establishing a drug-safe community. Sgt. Blalock will have a display of drug paraphernalia items as well as resource and recovery information from local programs.
Childcare and refreshments will be provided.

| Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce feels that it is most fitting to celebrate the contributions that small businesses make to our economy. Small businesses represent 98% of the businesses in Brunswick County, create three of every four new jobs, and generate a majority of American innovations. Take the time to nominate an individual or partners (a team) who is a member of the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce you feel deserve to hold the title of Small Business Person of the Year. We are also taking nominations for businesses who display outstanding Customer Service. |
