Ferry operations from Indigo Plantation & Marina, the current embarkation point for Bald Head Island, will be suspended permanently at that time.

See the Battleship like you never have before! Small groups will be taken behind-the-scenes to areas not on the regular tour from down in the brig(ship's jail) to high up in the fire control tower to large, complex engineering spaces. The tours will last approximately three hours. You must be 12 years or older. Wear comfortable, warm clothing and sturdy, rubber-soled shoes; bring a camera, but no large backpacks.

The Nutcracker under the Sea
Brunswick Ballet Company & Brunswick Little Theatre will perform this adaptation of the traditional story of the Nutcracker, which gives it a local flare without changing the basics of the story or music. It takes place on a North Carolina rice plantation in the 1800's, and Clara's dream in Act II takes place under the sea.

10K route over the Oak Island Bridge through tree lined streets on Oak Island past the beachfront and Oak Island Lighthouse ending at the NC Baptist Assembly in Fort Caswell. 5K route begins near Caswell Beach Town Hall and travels the beachfront past the Oak Island Lighthouse ending at the NC Baptist Assembly, Fort Caswell.

Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce feels that it is most fitting to celebrate the contributions that small businesses make to our economy. Small businesses represent 98% of the businesses in Brunswick County, create three of every four new jobs, and generate a majority of American innovations. Take the time to nominate an individual or partners (a team) who is a member of the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce you feel deserve to hold the title of Small Business Person of the Year. We are also taking nominations for businesses who display outstanding Customer Service.
