N.C. Freedom Run. Waterfront Park—8:00 a.m. 5K Freedom Run/Walk. Immediately following at approximately 8:45 a.m. is the 1 Mile Run/Walk. Sponsored by Security Savings Bank.

National 4th of July Art Show. Franklin Square Gallery from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Hosted by Associated Artists of Southport.

Veterans Recognition Event. Southport Community Building 4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Open to the general public with special emphasis honoring Korean Veterans.
Brunswick Band Concert. Middleton Park on Oak Island at 5:00 p.m. Bring blanket or chair and picnic.

Community Worship Service. Southport Baptist Church at 7:00 p.m. Sponsored by: Interchurch Fellowship.

Fireworks. Long Beach Pier at 9:00 p.m. Sponsored by Town of Oak Island, Long Beach Pier, & Area Merchants.

Flag Retirement Ceremony. Bay Street in front of the Garrison at 3:00 p.m. Sponsored by DAR Brunswick Chapter and the Cape Fear Council Brunswick District of the Boy Scouts of America.

U.S. Marine Corp Reserve Unit Display. Waterfront Park, Southport. Coordinated by: Brunswick County Marine Corp League Detachment 1005.

Entertainment. 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Beach Stage - OD Karaoke.

Youth Activities. Soccer Field 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Craft activities, water activities, watermelon seed spitting, crab races and more. Advance Auto will sponsor a variety of game type activities from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Face Painting.
Sand Creations. Begins at 12:30 p.m. with 1:00 p.m. judging – Cabana Area.
Skateboard & Inline Competition. Registration at 10:00 a.m., Competition at 10:30 a.m.
Shag Contest. 5:00 p.m. at Beach Stage, with finals at Ocean Breeze Beach Club following the Beach Concert.
