Those awards are the quarterly Golden Pineapple Awards, annual Small Business of the Year, Customer Service of the Year, Non-Profit of the Year, President's Award and Ambassador of the Year.

Golden Pinapple Award
In colonial America the pineapple symbolized the warmest welcome a hostess could extend to their guests. A business community the exemplify this same warm welcoming attitude through consistent, exceptional customer service is critical to the health and vitality of our community's economy.

The only criteria is they must be a member of the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce.  Those who are nominated who are not members will be notified of their nomination but they will not be awarded the Golden Pineapple.
