Last Thursday, we celebrated the opening of the G.V. Barbee Bridge with a special Business Networking After Hours at Cox Quality Home Furnishings. Located at the entrance of island at 128 Country Club Drive. The members enjoyed an evening of networking and the gracious hospitality of Staffie Webster and the entire Cox Quality Home Furnishings Oak Island crew. Cox Quality Bedding Center is also part of the Cox Quality Home Furnishings family located at 4576 Long Beach Road, Southport.

Faces of Commerce Replaces Carpool

The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce held its last It’s Worth the Drive Go Local Carpool on April 4th in anticipation of the opening of the G.V. Barbee Bridge to Oak Island.   The Carpool was one of the Chamber’s activities that encouraged residents to make the extra effort to support local businesses during the temporary closing of the bridge.   The Carpool also served as a fun, informative way to showcase the products and services offered by our business community while trumpeting the good work of community organizations.
