The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce has just received 50,000 copies of the 2017 “Picture Perfect” Living and Recreating Guide for the Southport-Oak Island area. The 44-page guide is the only guide published by the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Healthy Green Solutions

Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held in March for Healthy Green Solutions.  Dave Berkheimer, founder, formed Healthy Green Solutions, LLC in 2015. Healthy Green Solutions specializes in Pulsed Magnetic Field Therapy, promoting more healthy plant based nutrition with Juice Plus and the Tower Garden, and helping you with breathing clean air anywhere indoors, drinking healthier water, and doing laundry with no detergent. 2017 Southport-Oak Island Golf Classic May 6th

The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking golfers to play in this annual Southport-Oak Island Golf Classic.    The Golf Classic will be held on Saturday, May 6th at the Oak Island Golf Club.  The tournament format is 4-person captain’s choice with a shot-gun start at 8:30am.  The entry fee is $420 per 4-person team and includes green fees, golf cart, breakfast biscuit, coffee, juice, hospitality cart, lunch and 4 mulligans per team.  There will be a cash prize for first place in each flight. Ground Breaking for Southport Christian High School

In 1995, the vision of the original planning committee for Southport Christian School was to offer a preschool through high school curriculum. Spring Good Neighbor Breakfast Held at SBMS

Thirty two students at South Brunswick Middle School were honored on Friday, March 17th for being “Good Neighbors” in their school and in their communities. Honorees, along with their families, were invited to attend the award ceremony which took place in the school’s media center. Breakfast was shared while guest speaker, the Honorable Pauline Hankins, NC Judicial District 13th Court Judge shared what it means to be a good neighbor. Teachers of the students then presented the awards while sharing briefly why the student was chosen to be honored.

March Cash Mob Storms Southport Trading Company

On Saturday, March 11th the Cash Mob convened at the corner of East Moore/South Davis Streets in Southport then proceeded to “Mob” Southport Trading Company located at 108 S. Davis Street.  A little over 20 local mobsters participated and supported this locally owned and operated small business while taking full advantage of the “Cash Mob” specials only available during the event.  At the conclusion of shopping,  the “Mob” was invited to celebrate and socialize at Dry Street Pub & Pizza.

Coastal Consumer Show Draws Its Largest Crowd

The 2017 Coastal Consumer Showcase drew its largest crowd in 7 years as an estimated 600 people attended the annual event held at the St. James Community Center.
Just over 60 businesses were available to answer questions about the products and services they provide to our Southport-Oak Island Area residents on a daily basis.  Residents and visitors who attended the show were encouraged to register for a chance to win $100 and numerous prizes in the Pick-A-Prize Auction.   Mary Johnson of Southport was the lucky winner of the $100 cash prize.  Ms. Johnson said it is important to her to attend the Coastal Consumer Showcase because “it gives her an opportunity to talk ...

Spring is a great time of the year to think about sprucing up your home and the members of the Southport Oak Island Chamber of Commerce-Welcome Center had an opportunity to check out a wonderful variety of shutters and blinds on display at Coastal Shutters during the March Business Networking After Hours.
