Southport Magazine Represents at Coastal Entrepreneur Awards

The 10th Anniversary of the Greater Wilmington Business Journal's Coastal Entrepreneur Awards was held on May 23rd in the Burney Center in Wilmington. For many years the Greater Wilmington Business Journal has recognized the Southport Oak Island Chamber of Commerce-Welcome Center Small Business of the Year as part of the event. We were honored to have Kris Beasley, Southport Magazine represent our Southport-Oak Island Area Business Community as the Chamber's 2016/2017 Small Business Person of the Year. Taxes Topic of Panel at Out of the Box Luncheon

A complicated topic - taxes specifically the New Tax Code: Impacts on Small Business was the focus at the May Out of the Box Luncheon. A panel of local tax professionals was assembled to discuss changes to the tax code for business and personal taxes. Over 20 members of the Southport Oak Island Chamber of Commerce-Welcome Center assembled to gather information and ask questions. Duncan B. OKI Golf Club Hosts Chamber Annual Golf Tournament

It was a fabulous day for a Golf Tournament this past Saturday. The Chamber's Annual Golf Tournament was held at the Oak Island Golf Club.  This golf tournament is a fundraising event for the Southport Oak Island Chamber of Commerce-Welcome Center. As a non-profit membership based organization we use fundraisers like the golf tournament, Oak Island Lighthouse Run, US Open King Mackerel Tournament and other events to keep the membership investment in the Chamber as low as possible and maintain an active program of work to benefit our members.

Novant Health Brunswick Endoscopy Center is open

Novant Health Brunswick Endoscopy Center opened Monday, April 16, and is Brunswick County’s first, freestanding outpatient endoscopy center. Patients now have access to a wide variety of endoscopy services, including colonoscopies and endoscopies, in a convenient location.The endoscopy center is located at 13 Medical Campus Drive NW, Suite 101 in Supply. Chamber Hosts Opioid Panel Discussion Next One June 18th

Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce held a discussion on the opioid crisis in Brunswick County with a very distinguished panel. Kathryn Lawler, Hypnosis By Professionals organized and moderated the event.
13th Judicial District Attorney Jon David discussed what is being done in the court system to address the drug dealers.
