Faces of Commerce Replaces Carpool

The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce held its last It’s Worth the Drive Go Local Carpool on April 4th in anticipation of the opening of the G.V. Barbee Bridge to Oak Island.   The Carpool was one of the Chamber’s activities that encouraged residents to make the extra effort to support local businesses during the temporary closing of the bridge.   The Carpool also served as a fun, informative way to showcase the products and services offered by our business community while trumpeting the good work of community organizations. Cassidy Wins March Worth the Drive Drawing

Southport Oak Island Chamber of Commerce-Welcome Center monthly It's Worth The Drive Go Local Passport Drawings was held on March 1st. Rita Cassidy of Oak Island won the March Drawing for $100. The last of the drawings will be held on May 1st. To enter the drawing, simply stop by the Chamber’s Welcome Center (4433 Long Beach Road) Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30am-5:00pm and show receipts from purchases in April from ten different businesses.

LaPolina B&B Hosts Coffee with the Girls

The ladies of the Southport Oak Island Chamber of Commerce-Welcome Center met at LaPolena Bed & Breakfast Inn in Southport for the April Coffee with the Girls networking event. After a short welcome by innkeeper Suzanne Foster, the ladies began networking and touring the inn located at 201 River Drive, Southport.





The next Coffee with the Girls will be held on May 21st at 8:00am in the new Hampton Inn & Suites (4820 Port Loop Road). Speaker Ilene Evans will discuss "How to Market to Your Tribe".

The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce has just received 45,000 copies of the 2019 “Picture Perfect” Living and Recreating Guide for the Southport-Oak Island area. The 48-page guide is the only guide published by the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce. The annual guide contains useful information for visitors and residents about Bald Head Island, Boiling Spring Lakes, Bolivia, Caswell Beach, Oak Island, Southport, St. James and Sunset Harbor.

Oak Island Drive, Unit 1, Oak Island (Next to The BBQ House). This is a coastal boutique features antiques and collectibles, jewelry and coastal fashion and decor. When selecting their new offerings, they emphasize American made items and small artisan companies. One of their unique offerings is customized latitude and longitude glassware, trays and clocks and signs customized for Oak Island, Southport and surrounding areas.
