Small Business Person and Non Profit of the Year Nominations
The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce will accept nominations for the Small and Non-Profit of the Year Awards from January 1st to April 30th. Anyone can nominate a local business to compete for this award. However, three criteria must be met before they become eligible to compete: Any individual who owns and operates or bears principal responsibility for operating a small business may be nominated for Small Business of the Year. Partners who jointly own and operate a small business may be nominated as a “team”, so long as the number of individuals in the team nomination does not exceed four. The business must be a member of the Southport Oak Island Area Chamber Of Commerce. The business must have been in operation for a minimum of five years. The Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce will accept nominations for the Non-Profit of the Year Award until April 30th. There are many non-profit organizations working throughout Brunswick County and they should be recognized for their good works. The general public is encouraged to nominate a non-profit organization to compete for this award. Once nominated, the Chamber will qualify those nominations based upon three criteria: 501 (c) Non-Profit Organization recognized by the IRS. Provide charitable services in the Southport-Oak Island Area. Been in Operation for a minimum of 5 years.
